Casting our Cares – Weekly Update

The joys and the disappointments, the triumphs and the heartbreak are just a few of the facets that life has to offer.  Our God who lovingly and passionately created life knows us completely, our deepest fears and our heartfelt hopes, God knows our failures and mistakes and our best efforts and victories, God feels our very breath and every beat of our heart.

God invites us to draw close – to him and to each other.  God invites us into relationship through his son Jesus Christ and by the power of the Holy Spirit.  This Sunday morning the scriptures will invite us to cast our nets as followers of Christ and to be drawn in ever closer to our creator through the lesson in Mark 1:14-20.  Together we will cast our prayers, our hopes, our songs and our care around those near and far as we go fishing with God.

We continue our prayers for our brother Bob Lamar and his family as he is still very gravely ill with pneumonia.  Please also remember our many other family of faith members who are in various stages of treatments and recovery.

As a reminder our elders, deacons and staff will be joining together at our annual planning retreat this weekend, please lift our leadership team in your prayers.  Also our annual congregational meeting will be held this Sunday, January 25 following worship for the purpose of presenting an annual report to the congregation including budget information, electing members to the Nominations Committee and approving the pastoral salary.
