Celebrate, Come Celebrate!!

Greetings from the breathtaking Zephyr Point Presbyterian Conference Center in beautiful South Lake Tahoe!  Staci Ashby, Kathie Consalvi and I have had a truly enriching week at the “Into the Hills” conference focusing on Spiritual Formation for our churches.  Thank you congregation for giving us time to be refreshed and filled with vision.

But we are also looking forward to returning home for our Sunday morning Consecration Celebration of our church and the Audacious Faith to which we have been called.  As we hear the moving story of Ruth (chapter 8 in The Story) and her dedication to faith and family, we ourselves will have an opportunity to celebrate the numerous ways in which we express our audacious faith and how we respond to God’s redeeming love for us through covenant promises.  Our response is much more than just charitable donations and this Sunday we will celebrate all the ways we are called to be stewards of our opportunities.

Following worship this Sunday is a Consecration/Celebration Breakfast hosted by our Men’s Breakfast group as a way for our entire congregation to gather for fellowship and merriment as we ask God to bless our offerings and give to us audacious faith.

Don’t forget this Monday, October 19 is our deacon blood drive at the church and Mission Monday at Don Jose’s – do both and give a pint of spicy blood!

We are pleased to offer a New Member class on Sunday, November 1 following worship and the Gratitude Breakfast for anyone new to our church who would like to know more about our particular family of faith, church membership and meet others who are part of our growing fellowship.

On Sunday, November 15 our sister church, New Hope Presbyterian Church, will be sponsoring the Hope Alive Concert “Perfect Harmony” featuring local musicians which supports music instruction for low income schools in our area.  For more information and online ticket reservations click onto mynewhopepres.org.

Our Mexico Mission Adult Weekend Trip is just around the corner, November 6-8.  Details about the trip and registration information can be found on our web site, Fall Mexico Mission.

In His Service,

Rev. Lissa Smith
