Mission Weekend and facing our giants!

Our Mexico Mission Advance Team is just about ready to depart for the colonias we have come to love so much to make ready for the rest of the team that will arrive on Friday.  Please pray for our work as we construct two modest “casitas” for impoverished families.

SOMETIMES I GET SO EXCITED ABOUT OUR TREMENDOUS CONGREGATION I WANT TO TYPE IN ALL CAPS! This Sunday in worship will be another blessed gathering as we are reminded of the breadth and depth of our leader servants among us!  In worship we will continue with the story of King David, a man after God’s own heart, who will face some significant giants again in his reign as king – if you are reading along in The Story we will share chapter 12.  Come join us for this exciting adventure.

On Sunday, November 15, following worship we are delighted to present a Pre-Advent Workshop and Alternative Christmas Market for our whole congregation and community.  This event will include multi-generation activities regarding Advent and Christmas traditions and will focus on the tradition of the Jesse Tree. This will be a great tie-in with our journey through The Story. The workshop will also include an amazing Alternative Gift Market for the Christmas season.  Click here and let us know you are coming!

That evening our sister church, New Hope Presbyterian Church, will be sponsoring the Hope Alive Concert “Perfect Harmony” featuring local musicians which supports music instruction for low income schools in our area.  Tickets will be available following worship this Sunday. For more information and online ticket reservations click onto mynewhopepres.org.

Thanksgiving Eve Worship is just around the corner, so mark your calendars for Wednesday, November 25 at 7 PM for a unique worship experience.  An offering for the Orange County Food bank of canned and dried food items will be collected that evening.

In His Service,

Rev. Lissa Smith
