We are so privileged to be part of such a rich tapestry of faith and service at Canyon Hills Presbyterian Church. It seems that no matter how difficult or dark a day can be for one of us, or for our community or world, we have a strong family of faith to lean upon and feel uplifted. It would be a rare (but welcome) moment if we did not face a challenge or receive some type of difficult news during the course of the week. Thank you Lord, for providing this shelter from the stormy blasts of life!
No need to feel deflated because this Sunday is super indeed! Not because of a game played on the gridiron or advertising entertainment, but because it is Sunday, just Sunday. It is Super because Sunday hopes to bring us Sabbath rest, hopes to offer renewal through worship, prayers and song, hopes to create connections and endeavors to build our strength. Sunday at 10:00 AM affords us the opportunity to gather, to listen and share, to wrestle and to discover confidence. I pray that we will make this Sunday super with our presence and participation as we explore how Jesus frees us from the troubles that grip our lives and share the sacrament of communion.
We are so thrilled to be offering a Cyber-Safety presentation tomorrow evening for all parents and care-givers of children and teens beginning at 7 PM in our fellowship hall. And as a reminder this will be our last “Knock Your Socks Off” Sunday collection of socks and undies for our service partners.
Our Los Ranchos Presbytery is hosting a Mission Summit focusing on Families in Mission on Saturday, February 7 from 8 AM to 1 PM at First Presbyterian Church, Garden Grove. February 8 is a special day for our church – it is installation day for Rev. Smith at a special worship service at 3 PM with a reception to follow. Let’s celebrate together!
In His Service,
