I know it is summer because our house is filled with the sweet scent of sunscreen and aloe vera! I have come to love those aromas as they help me relax and enjoy the coming long days and the change of pace. Perhaps we will all have an opportunity this summer to relax and revive our souls and welcome a change in our schedules – lingering in the longer days and the balmy nights.
As we enter into our summer worship phase there will be much to celebrate and embrace. You are encouraged to come and relax each Sunday in our sanctuary and allow the light of Christ to flood over you as we put on God’s Sonscreen! This Sunday we will continue our journey with Jesus through Mark’s gospel as he and the disciples go on a healing binge as recorded in Mark 5:21-43.
Immediately following worship we will have a brief congregational meeting to elect two elders to fill 2 unexpired terms and possible one deacon.
Our staff is hard at work putting together some great opportunities for our congregation when we dive into The Story later this summer. Be on the lookout on the patio and in your mail for more details as they come available.
Our children’s ministry team is looking for volunteers for our growing children’s program, please take a moment think about how you might support this vitally important ministry.
Don’t forget to sign up for dinner groups – it’s not too late! Deadline is next Sunday. You can use our web site or the form in our worship bulletins. Perfect way to meet new people and make friends!
In His Service,
Rev. Lissa Smith
